How to Print Address Labels

Print address labels online with Labeliy on Avery 5160 and other formats. Type addresses manually or import a spreadsheet — free, no account needed.

Address labels stick on envelopes and packages to show where they're going. With Labeliy, print a full sheet of address labels from a contact list in minutes.

The Best Sheet for Address Labels#

Avery 5160 is the most popular format — 30 labels per sheet, each 2⅝" × 1". It works with most inkjet and laser printers.

Other options:

  • Avery 8160 — same size as 5160, optimized for inkjet
  • Avery 5161 — 20 labels per sheet, slightly taller (1" × 4")

Step 1 — Set Up Your Sheet#

  1. Open labeliy.com/label-maker
  2. Keep Label Sheet selected in the setup window
  3. Search for Avery 5160 and click the result
  4. Click Start Designing

Step 2 — Add Your Elements#

Click Text in the toolbar and place elements for name, address, city, state, and ZIP. Or start from a design with these fields already in place — see Browsing Label Design Templates.

Step 3 — Make Your Fields Dynamic#

Select each text element, turn on Dynamic Data, and set a clear Column Name for it — name, address, city, state, zip. See Making an Element Dynamic.

Step 4 — Add Your Addresses#

Click Add Data.

Option A — Type addresses in manually: Click a cell and type. Add a row for each address.

Option B — Import from a spreadsheet: Use the Import tab and upload your file. Map each column to the matching label field. See Adding Your Label Data.

Click Done.

Step 5 — Print#

Click Print. Set Scale to 100% and Margins to None, then print.

30 address labels per sheet, perfectly aligned.

Printing Return Address Labels#

Need the same address on every label? Skip Dynamic Data — add a text element and type your return address directly. Since nothing is dynamic, there's no data table; instead you'll set the Quantity stepper in the top bar to how many copies you want (e.g. 30 for a full sheet).

Tips for Address Labels#

Check for typos before printing a big batch. Sort your spreadsheet by ZIP code first — it's easier to spot inconsistencies when addresses are grouped by area.

Use one "Name" column, not split first/last. If your label has a single name field, combine first and last name into one spreadsheet column before importing.

Save your work. Click Save after printing so you can reopen and reprint from your Dashboard later.

Print a test sheet first. Print on plain paper and hold it up against a label sheet to confirm alignment before using real labels.
