Adding Your Label Data

Learn how to fill in your label data in Labeliy — type it manually or import an Excel or CSV file, then map columns to your label's dynamic fields.

Once at least one element on your label has Dynamic Data turned on, an Add Data button appears in the top bar. Click it to open the Data panel, where you fill in the values that print on each label — one row per label.

Option 1 — Type It In Manually#

Click the Manual tab. You'll see a table with one column per dynamic element, plus a Quantity column.

  1. Click a cell and type a value
  2. Click Add New Row to add another label
  3. Set Quantity on a row to print more than one copy of that label
  4. Use the checkbox next to a row to include or exclude it from printing

Use the Search rows... box to find a row in a long table. Click the download icon to export your current data.

Option 2 — Import a File#

Click the Import tab, then choose File as the data source.

  1. Click Download Template to get a spreadsheet with your label's exact column names already in place — this is the easiest way to avoid mapping errors
  2. Drag your file onto the drop area, or click to browse for it
  3. Labeliy accepts XLSX, XLS, and CSV files

Matching Your Columns#

After you choose a file, Labeliy shows each column from your file next to a Label variable dropdown. Nothing is mapped automatically — pick the matching label variable for each column yourself.

Any label variable you don't map is listed as a warning ("won't get data from this file") so you can catch mistakes before importing. Click Import [N] rows when your mapping looks right.

Tip: Downloading the template first means your column headers already match — you can skip the mapping step entirely.

Finishing Up#

Click Done to close the Data panel. Changes apply to your label automatically — there's no separate save step for your data.

Common Questions#

Can I import more sources later, like Google Sheets or a URL? The Data Source dropdown lists Google Sheet, URL, Shopify, and WordPress options, but they're marked "Coming soon" — only File import (XLSX, XLS, CSV) works today.

How many labels will print? Labeliy adds up every row's Quantity and works out how many sheets you need automatically. You'll see the total on the Printing step.
