Measure your own label sheet and enter it as a custom size in Labeliy. Step-by-step guide to measuring label width, height, margins, and gaps with a ruler.

If your sheet isn't in the sheet search, you can enter its exact measurements yourself using the Custom tab. You'll need a ruler — millimeters are easier than inches for small measurements.

Step 1 — Open the Custom Tab#

Go to labeliy.com/label-maker. In the Choose your label setup window, click the Custom tab.

You'll see two groups of fields: Sheet and Label.

Step 2 — Measure the Sheet#

Fill in the Sheet fields:

Field	How to measure it
Width	The full width of the paper sheet
Height	The full height of the paper sheet
Left Margin	From the left edge of the paper to the left edge of the first label
Top Margin	From the top edge of the paper to the top edge of the first label
Horizontal Gap	The space between two labels side by side. Enter `0` if labels touch.
Vertical Gap	The space between two labels stacked top to bottom. Enter `0` if labels touch.

Step 3 — Measure One Label#

Fill in the Label fields:

Field	How to measure it
Width	The width of one label — not the whole sheet
Height	The height of one label — not the whole sheet
Corner Radius	How rounded the label's corners are. Enter `0` for square corners.

Do not include the gap between labels — measure only the label itself.

Step 4 — Check the Live Preview#

As you fill in the fields, the Live Preview panel works out how many labels fit and shows a grid — you don't need to count rows and columns yourself. It displays:

Labels / sheet — total labels Labeliy fits on the page
Grid — the number of columns × rows
Label size and Sheet size

If the grid looks wrong, double-check your Sheet width/height and gap values first — a small error there throws off the whole grid.

Step 5 — Set Start Position (Optional)#

If some labels on your sheet are already used, set Row and Column under Start Position to skip them. Leave both at 1 to start from the top-left label.

Step 6 — Start Designing#

Click Start Designing.

Checking if Your Measurements Are Correct#

After starting your design, print one page on plain paper and hold it up against your real label sheet in front of a window or light.

Shifted to one side → your Left Margin is off
Shifted up or down → your Top Margin is off
Labels too big or small → recheck your label Width and Height
Labels drifting apart across the sheet → your gap values are off
